More about Carvoeiro 

The Algarve has two faces. The eastern part is rather flat with huge beaches and stretches up to the Guadiana river; the western part stretches to Cabo Vicenze and is made up of limestone rocks and caves, small secluded beaches and picturesque villages. Here, in the middle of the Barlavento, you will find the old fishing village of Carvoeiro, which nowadays has developed into an attractIve holiday village.

It is built around a half-moon bay, the Praia do Carvoeiro. The central square is adjacent to the small beach with its colourful fishing boats. There are nice shops, attractive streets and lots of restaurants, bars and sunny terraces. Carvoeiro has three banks and several cash machines. there are also several medical centres as well as a pharmacy. Outside the village towards Lagoa you’ll find the larger supermarkets such as “Intermarche”, “Aldi” and “Apolonia” (the last being sort of a luxury supermarket…).

In and around Carvoeiro are lots of activities, varying from golf to waterparks, boat trips and beautiful walks .
In the summer there is very often live music In the central square.
